Attorney Gwen-Marie Davis is the founding and managing partner of GDH Law which is headquartered in Prince George’s County and has offices in Lanham and Rockville, Maryland. Ms. Davis-Hicks has been a Prince George’s County resident for over 30 years. She proudly serves the residents of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Ms. Davis-Hicks graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law. After that, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland, where she quickly discovered her desire to concentrate her legal career in the practice of business law and personal injury law.

Gwen-Marie currently focuses on various business matters and personal injury matters representing clients that have been injured in serious catastrophic injuries, automobile collisions, slip-and-falls, instances of nursing home negligence, medical malpractice cases, defective product cases, and more. She understands that injury victims suffer from financial distress and emotional trauma after an incident, collision, or injury. She is dedicated to ensuring that clients and their families are treated fairly and receive all the insurance benefits and compensation they deserve.

Gwen-Marie has experience working with nationally-recognized consultants and experts from diverse fields such as investigators, red light/green light sequencing experts, medical practitioners, engineers, human factors experts, etc. who help build strong cases for her clients. She has a proven track record of obtaining millions of dollars in settlements and trial verdicts that can be directly attributed to her extensive legal knowledge, aggressive advocacy, attention to detail, and outstanding oral and written communication skills.

She is a strong believer in giving back to her community and has been blessed with many opportunities to do so. She volunteers for “Back-to-School” drives and is a speaker at elementary schools and high schools. She is a Washington Commanders football fan and a Washington Capitals hockey fan. Most of all, she is an excellent wife and an active, hard-working mother of three beautiful, intelligent children: Kenton, Kasmin, and Kaylei Dawn.

She is currently the president-elect for the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ). She serves as Membership Co-Chair of the MAJ, Publications Committee, and is proud to have helped reestablish and implement the Minority Caucus for the MAJ. She is on the Board of Governors for the Maryland Association of Justice and the American Association for Justice. She is the current Secretary of AAJ Premises Liability Section. She recently was awarded National Awards from the American Association for Justice.

Additionally, she is a national speaker across the country and has appeared on Fox 5, Court TV, Law and Crime, ABC News, and CBS News. She received the Women’ Trial Lawyer Caucus (WTLC) Leadership Award. She also was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the President of the American Association for Justice who recognizes members of the AAJ Board of Governors who have assisted the president of the association and the AAJ Certificate of Recognition. She is also the co-chair of the WTLC membership committee. She has been a faculty speaker for the MAJ and has been a faculty speaker for the AAJ at various events across the country. She was also selected to be in the Leadership Academy for the AAJ, which has an extremely competitive selection process. She serves on the FRE 702 Rules Committee for the AAJ. She has been published in the Trial Magazine for the AAJ, and the Trial Reporter for the MAJ. She regularly volunteers in legal forums and at events.

She was appointed to be on the Peer Review committee for the Attorney Grievance Commission. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Prince George’s County Bar Association, and J. Franklyn Bourne.
During the Maryland General Assembly, she testified on behalf of the MAJ on various legislative bills that directly affect her clients. She fought hard and won to remove mandatory arbitration clauses from contracts. She also volunteers to speak to legislators on Capitol Hill on behalf of the AAJ.

Only 2.5% of attorneys are selected and awarded as Super Lawyer and Gwen-Marie has been selected for numerous consecutive years. She was also recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as Top 40 Lawyers Under 40.

In addition, Ms. Davis-Hicks performs community service as follows: American Association for Justice Distracted Driving Presentation, Assisted in Publishing Devotions by Dawn, Attorney Participation in Free Legal Clinic, Attorney for Expungement Fairs, Volunteer for National Pine Forge Academy Alumni Association, and Volunteer Walk for the Homeless Sponsored by Chat with a Lawyer.
